Welcome to the Bank of Artingence Prototype Demo
A prototype is often used as part of the product design process to allow engineers and designers the ability to explore design alternatives, test theories and confirm performance prior to starting production of a new product. Read more about prototypes in Wikipedia.
When you call the bank, Aidan (Aida's Dad) will ask how he can help you; current services include getting your account balance and transferring funds from one account to another. Obviously a real banking application would include more services, but as this is just a demonstration of potential capabilities the full feature set has not been implemented.
Please call 0844 562 4025 to call the bank to speak to Aidan; your account has a balance of £500 with User ID 1234 and Password 567.
- Account Balance: just say something like "Can you
tell me how much is in my account"
- Aidan will tell you your balance
- Funds Transfer: just tell Aidan something like "I'd like to
transfer some funds please"
- When he asks for the Sort Code and Account Number you want to transfer the money to, just give him a four digit number for each, e.g. Sort Code 2131 and Account 7829
- Then tell him how much you want to transfer, he'll check you have sufficient funds in your account and ask you for confirmation for the transaction
As stated above, this prototype is just a model that has allowed us to test the various types of technology that we are intending to use in the production version of the system. Aidan is a bit staid and hard of hearing compared to Aida! In the real system, the speech synthesis and speech recognition will be of a higher quality: the recognition will be better and the voices you will be able to hear will sound much more natural. The real applications that people develop with the system will be much larger and more intelligent and the scalability of the system will allow Aidan to be joined by many more virtual agents to put an end to you being kept in a queue.
